Shabani Furniture was born from a simple belief — that furniture should be built to last, crafted with intention, and designed for those who demand more.
Our story begins in the 1970s when Thomas Shabani discovered his passion for furniture making. With nothing but raw talent and an uncompromising eye for detail, Thomas built a reputation for handcrafted, heirloom-quality furniture — pieces that weren’t just functional, but works of art destined to stand the test of time.
When circumstances forced Thomas to close his workshop, his dedication to the craft never wavered. Working from his garage, he continued building and restoring furniture with the same precision and care. It wasn’t long before loyal clients — and an entirely new generation of customers — sought him out once again.
A Family Legacy, Built by Hand
In 1994, Thomas’ son, Edmond Shabani, left a successful restaurant in San Francisco to help his father keep up with demand. Together, they opened Elegant Design Interiors, a small workshop in Burbank, California. Word quickly spread — from homeowners to Hollywood celebrities to interior designers— about their meticulous reupholstery work and custom furniture.
Their reputation for craftsmanship, quality, and integrity made Elegant Design Interiors a trusted name in Los Angeles for over two decades.
The Next Chapter: Shabani Furniture
Today, that legacy continues with Patrick Shabani, the third generation of the family trade.
Raised in the workshop, Patrick learned every detail — from the art of upholstery to the nuances of running a furniture business. Inspired by his family's history and driven by a passion for modern design, he founded Shabani Furniture to offer something rare: furniture that blends old-world craftsmanship with bold, contemporary design.
